Robert Dale Gorham, 69, Fillmore, died Wednesday evening at his residence. He was born Oct. 29, 1912,the son of Dora and Jewell (Ruark) Gorham in Putnam County. Mr. Gorham married the former Melba Lisby on Dec. 8,1934, and she survives.

He served in World War II in the European Theater. He was also a member of the Fillmore Christian Church and served as a deacon and trustee. For 42 years he was employed at the American Zinc Products Co. For six years prior to his retirement he was employed by DePauw University.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Suzanne Schmitt, and son-in-law Rick Schmitt, Indianapolis; mother Jewell Gorham; a brother Kenneth Gorham, Greencastle; two sisters, Dorthy Gorham and Geraldine Alspaugh, both of Plainfield; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father and four brothers, Tommy, Donald, Earl, and Dallas Gorham.

Services will be held at 2 p. m. Friday at the Hopkins-Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle. Interment will be in Fillmore Cemetery. Friends may call 3:30-9 p. m. Thursday and until service time on Friday.
